STAR Literacy Programme adopts a Systematic Teaching Approach to Reading. Combining both the phonetic and the whole language approach, it provides children a fun and enriching journey to learning how to read, write and speak. This set of STAR readers is designed in accordance to the sounds taught to the children, from the basic consonant to blends, diphthongs and digraphs. It also introduces high frequency sight words in each story. Each story is written to rouse the children’s curiosity and eagerness to reach out for the books again.
In Sam Makes a Big Fuss! Sam learns that it is pointless to kick up a fuss when he does not get what he wants. He needs to learn patience and indeed he learns it from his brother Mick.
